17 – 22 May 2026
Every now and then, we become playful with our in-house program, the Mandali Experience, and offer a week of celebration. This retreat is designed for those who wish to get more from their experience and explore a wider range of classes
In addition to our daily yoga, meditation, and QiGong practice, in this special edition of the Mandali Experience we are joined by Maurits Hofman and Yoran Hensel , who will be facilitating 5 days of workshops including Traditional LakotaSweatlodges, Fire Ceremony, Breathwork Journeys and Singing circles. This is a beautiful opportunity to both deeply connect with yourself, to the elements, our roots, our ancestors and also our shared humanity. Together, we will cultivate a warm feeling of homecoming and deep inner remembrance.
This programme offers: Twice daily guided meditations, twice daily yoga or Qi-Gong, daily special workshop (Breathwork Journey, Sweatlodge, or Singing Circle), access to the nourishing body care centre (pool, jacuzzi, sauna, & steam room), delicious, freshly prepared vegetarian meals. This is a playful, heart-warming experience, where you can design the journey that best serves you, participating in as much or as little of the program as you wish.

Ceremonies & Rituals with Maurits
The Sweat Lodge is the sacred chamber of transformation known as Inipi in the Lakota tradition. It is a place where prayer becomes breath, where truth steams into the body, and where the Great Mystery is felt rather than explained. Inside the circle of heated stones — held by darkness, song, and ancient rhythm — we release what no longer belongs to us. The lodge holds us like night holds the stars: unseen, yet deeply witnessed. The heat is not a test but a remembrance — calling us back to humility, surrender, and kinship with all living things. Here, the soul is softened and cleansed by meeting what is true.
The Singing Circle with Maurits is a gathering rooted in voice, resonance, and prayer. Inspired by Lakota values such as honesty (WoWičake) and devotion (WoČekiye), this circle is not about sounding good but about being real. We sing to reveal, not perform — letting sound rise naturally like smoke from a fire, unshaped and alive. Drum, guitar, voice, and silence become one shared language — older than story. Through singing together, we restore the delicate threads of connection we often lose outside the circle. We sing ancient Lakota, Seneca, Chumash, and other tribal songs passed down through generations. In this way, voice becomes medicine again.
The Fire Ceremony with Maurits is a ritual of honoring endings and welcoming renewal. The flames burn not against anything but for something: for our ancestors, for unnamed grief, for the sacred child within us, and for the path we are becoming. We gather in open air, in the presence of night and ancient prayer, offering what is heavy or incomplete. The ceremony bows to the unseen forces that shape us — guiding healing the way seasons guide change. Here, we stand in trust before the Great Mystery, not needing answers, only willingness. Healing becomes whole, gentle, and quietly unstoppable.
Arrival & Welcoming
You’ll be welcomed as a group to meet your teachers and fellow participants in an Opening Circle at 15:30 on Sunday, and to learn about the programme and workshops.
From there, the experience is yours to shape, and you’re invited to follow your own rhythm — join a morning class, rest and reflect, enjoy the Body Care Center, or simply meditate with the view. Feel into every day, this is your time to connect with what it means for you to come home to yourself.
The Mandali Experience Special begins at 3 PM, with check-in from 2 PM.
This retreat will be held in English.

I wish I’d spent more than 3 days there and truly hope to go back in the future. The rooms were very comfortable, the teachers were lovely, the food was delicious - I have absolutely no complaints and can’t say enough good things. Mandali was well worth the trip!
“I came to Mandali to learn to be in the present moment. In the end, not only did I find what I was looking for, but I also happened to have discovered Self Love, and found my Inner Trust.”
“I recommend this experience to anyone looking to slow down, reconnect in beautiful surroundings filled with attention to detail, and to give oneself the sweetest gift of self-care.”
“Being at Mandali allowed me to calm down and quiet my thinking mind. The calmness allowed me to realise how grateful I am about everything in my life.”
“Mandali felt like coming home and it made me open up so much and learn more about myself and others around me. Thank you so much for opening this part of me.”
“I came to Mandali to reconnect and maybe even find myself again. During my stay, I learned that silence is very treasurable, and with it, I could finally hear what my inner voice was saying.”
“Your generosity, your kindness and your warm smiles are the cherries on the cake. Being here means living life to the fullest in every single moment. You can let go of layers, and find such a peaceful side of yourself. Go silent, sit still, let it move you and take that ride.”
